About Sandi
From the skin up.
Sandi started where most people do, thinking grooming meant bathing cats. Twelve years and a Certified Feline Master Groomer credential later, she reads a coat from the skin outward: behaviour, skin health, coat structure, then the groom.
She earned that qualification in 2018, through the National Cat Groomers Institute, and for the last four years the practice has been feline exclusive. It is why the work starts with an assessment rather than a pair of clippers, and why a session is allowed to stop when a cat says it has had enough.
Sophisticated Manes is her one-groomer practice. No rotating staff, no handing your cat to whoever is rostered on. The same expert hands, every visit, which is also how she knows what your cat’s coat looked like eight weeks ago.
The mobile studio
The groom comes to your driveway.
Sandi works from a fully equipped grooming trailer, so the whole appointment happens at your place. No car trip. No waiting room full of strangers, and no dogs barking through the wall while your cat waits its turn.
Most of what makes a cat hate being groomed happens before the grooming does. By the time a cat has been driven across town and left somewhere loud, it has already decided how the day is going. Take those away and a great many cats turn out to be far easier to work with than their owners expected.
It also means one groomer, one cat, and a room that is not shared with anything else. Your cat goes out to the trailer in its carrier, for safety, gets Sandi’s full attention, and comes back inside when it is done.
